"Hues of Africa" is a multifaceted cultural initiative founded by Tiffany Heard, a solo traveler and content creator passionate about exploring African heritage. The project offers a range of experiences, including adult coloring and activity books that delve into the rich history and vibrant cultures of Africa. Additionally, Hues of Africa organizes group travel experiences, allowing participants to immerse themselves in African traditions and landscapes firsthand. Through these endeavors, Hues of Africa aims to educate, inspire, and foster a deeper appreciation for the continent's diverse heritage.
Here's how my team and I helped promote her brand...
Content Strategy Development & Campaign Planning
An integrated marketing strategy was designed to align social media, email, and website assets around the Virtual Solo Travel Conference. A detailed week-by-week posting and newsletter schedule ensured consistent engagement, cohesive messaging, and traffic growth leading up to the event.
Social Media & Content Creation
Instagram content—including posts, reels, and stories—was produced and scheduled to increase brand awareness and engagement for both the conference and the coloring books. A consistent three-times-per-week posting schedule combined educational, entertaining, and promotional content. Reels highlighted coloring book experiences, narrated travel tips, and showcased African culture, maintaining follower engagement while attracting new potential attendees.
Event Promotion Content Creation
I contributed to the promotion of Hues of Africa’s Virtual Solo Travel Conference through a multi-channel campaign that combined social media posts, Instagram stories, newsletters, and website updates. I created visually engaging content that highlighted key event details, safety tips for solo travelers, and the value of attending. Website Banner & Landing Page Optimization
I designed the website hero banner and supported the landing page for the Virtual Solo Travel Conference, creating a clear funnel from awareness to sign-up. The dedicated landing page reinforced this by providing detailed event information, guest speaker highlights, and a streamlined registration process. Within the first month, the landing page became the second most visited page on the site, showing the effectiveness of this integrated approach in driving traffic and conversions
Newsletter Campaigns & Development
I contributed to the design and launch of Hues of Africa’s newsletter campaign to promote the Virtual Solo Travel Conference and other offerings, such as the brand’s travel packages and coloring books. The newsletters were structured with engaging subject lines, vibrant visuals, and clear click-throughs to conference sign-ups, product pages, and blog articles. By aligning the email content with the social media calendar, we created a consistent brand voice across platforms and reinforced the campaign messaging. The newsletters achieved a 35% open rate, which is above the industry average, demonstrating strong audience interest despite the small initial subscriber base. This campaign also established a reliable channel for ongoing communication with followers, ensuring that Hues of Africa could maintain engagement, share updates, and encourage repeat interactions beyond social media
