Email campaigns built to engage audiences and drive action
For the City of Stanton, I contributed to the City Manager’s monthly newsletter by writing assigned sections. I worked closely with internal teams to gather updates on local programs, events, and initiatives, and translated that information into clear, engaging content for residents. This helped keep the community informed while ensuring the messaging remained accessible, accurate, and aligned with the city’s communication standards.
While working at my internship with Hues of Africa, I created and scheduled social media posts to encourage people to sign up for the Hues of Africa newsletter, sharing content that highlighted the project’s activities and cultural offerings. At the same time, I put together three weekly email campaigns, writing subject lines, designing visuals, and crafting copy to capture subscribers’ interest. I also tracked engagement metrics like open rates, click-throughs, and new sign-ups, using the data to improve future campaigns and make the overall experience from social media to email more seamless for our audience.
During my internship with Appu’s Turmeric Cafe in Long Beach, the goal for our email marketing campaign was attracting college students from the nearby campus to the restaurant. As part of the marketing strategy, I created email campaigns and newsletters that highlighted the café’s offerings and promoted special deals for students. I designed engaging flyers and content that introduced new visitors to the menu, showcased promotions, and encouraged students to visit, helping increase awareness and drive foot traffic from the surrounding college community. to your block, write your own text and edit me.
